What Are Iteration Theories?

چکیده
We prove that iteration theories can be introduced as algebras for the monad Rat on the category of signatures assigning to every signature Σ the rationalΣ-tree signature. This supports the result that iteration theories axiomatize precisely the equational properties of least fixed points in domain theory: Rat is the monad of free rational theories and every free rational theory has a continuous completion.

Elgot Theories: A New Perspective of Iteration Theories (Extended Abstract)
The concept of iteration theory of Bloom and Ésik summarizes all equational properties that iteration has in usual applications, e.g., in Domain Theory where to every system of recursive equations the least solution is assigned. However, this assignment in Domain Theory is also functorial. Yet, functoriality is not included in the definition of iteration theory. Pitty: functorial iteration theo...

Applied Linguistics and Applied Literature in the sense that we would like to use them should result in academic activities that are social in their orientation. Academics are not isolated individuals equipped with scientific tools and working within laboratory like situations. Their close encounter with the real world situations is a fundamental necessity. Reading theories and literary texts i...
متن کاملSome Remarks on Conway and Iteration Theories
We present an axiomatization of Conway theories which yields, as a corollary, a very concise axiomatization of iteration theories satisfying the functorial implication for base morphisms. It has been shown that most fixed point operations in computer science share the same equational properties. These equational properties are captured by the notion of iteration theories [1, 3]. Several axiomat...

In this study, based on the optimal free derivative without memory methods proposed by Cordero et al. [A. Cordero, J.L. Hueso, E. Martinez, J.R. Torregrosa, Generating optimal derivative free iterative methods for nonlinear equations by using polynomial interpolation, Mathematical and Computer Modeling. 57 (2013) 1950-1956], we develop two new iterative with memory methods for solving a nonline...
متن کاملTowards a Design for IT Performance Management
This paper provides a report on the first iteration of a design-driven research project for delivering an IT performance management (ITPM) solution. This research is situated in the context of existing IT performance related studies. Design science research (DSR) is the underpinning research approach for crafting the ensuing ITPM solution. Three challenges in the ITPM area are identified and a ...
